Lesson 1

Lesson 1

I will teach the importance of the different chess pieces.

The Pawns
   - The pawn is an important chess piece during the beginning of the game but the longer the chess game continues this chess piece become less important. This piece can only be moved one square forward but can be moved two squares forward at the beginning of a game. This piece can attack a chess piece only if the piece being attacked is one square diagonally in front of the pawn. Worth 1 point in value.

The Knights
   - This chess piece (looks like a horse) is an important key in playing offense without this chess piece you'd be better off playing defense. This piece can only be moved in a letter L form. Worth 3 points in value.

The Bishops
   - The bishop can be moved diagonally in any distance this is one of my favorite pieces I use this piece to mate an opponents king. Worth 3 points in value.

The Rook
   - The rook is an important chess piece it is used mostly for mating I suggest to keep it from harms way, this piece can be moved in a straight line which can be vertical or horizontal. Worth 5 points in value.

The Queen
   - This chess piece is one of the important piece in the game, this piece can be moved diagonally or in a straight line. Worth 9 points in value.

The King
   - The King is the most important piece in the game it should be protected at all times can only be moved one square away from its current position.

What is Chess?

Chess is a board game involving two players. It is played on a square-checkered board with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight grid. At the beginning of the game each player controls sixteen pieces: one king, one queen, two rooks, two knights, two bishops, and eight pawns. The object of the game is to checkmate the opponent's king, whereby the king is under immediate attack and there is no way to remove or defend it from attack on the next move.
